TM Beacons
What is a Beacon?
The Beacon is a compact, battery-powered device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to transmit signals, helping you track the location of your tools.
How do I attach a Beacon to a tool?
There are three ways to attach the Beacon:
- Integrate it into the tool handle
- Attach to the body using heavy-duty double-sided tape or screws.
- Secure with a zip-tie.
How many Beacons can I track at once?
You can track an unlimited number of Beacons simultaneously
How do I know if a Beacon’s battery is running low?
The system will notify you when the Beacon’s battery is low, allowing you to replace it before it completely runs out.
How long does the Beacon’s battery last?
The Beacons operate without battery replacement for up to 5 years. The guaranteed operational life is 3 years. They use a CR2032 battery, which is easily replaceable.
Do I need Beacons if I am using Smart Batteries?
Yes, Beacons are recommended. When a Smart Battery is removed from a tool, for example to charge, the tool’s location cannot be tracked without a beacon, making beacons crucial for full tracking capabilities.
How far can a Beacon’s signal reach?
The signal range of a Beacon typically extends up to 100 meters in open spaces.
